Nintendo finally unveiled the highly anticipated Switch 2, the follow-up to its beloved Nintendo Switch console, on January 16. Set to launch in 2025, the new console is already stirring up excitement.

The first-look trailer of the Switch 2 promises an upgraded experience with a sleek all-black design, a larger screen, and a convenient kickstand for hands-free play. The console is noticeably bigger than its predecessor but still maintains the same overall look. The detachable controllers are now predominantly black, with blue and red accents on the buttons. They can be attached to a full-sized controller interface and will also be compatible with a dock. However, Nintendo has warned that ‘certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2’.

More details are set to drop on April 2, 2025, in a special Nintendo Direct livestream titled “Nintendo Switch 2 – 4.2.2025.” Until then, the teaser is fueling excitement and speculation among fans and gamers.
Adding to this buzz, rumors are circulating that pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter might be involved in the project. While it’s not official yet, insiders from the Famiboards forum have hinted at her potential collaboration, especially given her past ties with Nintendo.
Since its release in 2017, the original Nintendo Switch has sold over 146 million units, becoming home to iconic games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Super Mario Odyssey. Now, with the anticipation building for the Switch 2, the buzz isn’t just about its new features and design. Reddit discussions are also circulating with fans speculating whether Sabrina Carpenter could be involved in the console’s marketing campaign.

One Reddit user said, “Honestly? If this is true, it makes sense. Sabrina has worked with Nintendo before, and they’ve used major tracks like Imagine Dragons’ ‘Believer’ in past promos for the Switch. So, it’s likely.” Another user pointed out that “she even mentioned Nintendo and the Switch in her song ‘Espresso.’”
Given Sabrina’s history with high-profile brand partnerships, fans are hoping these rumors have some truth to them. She recently teamed up with Dunkin’ U.S. to launch the Brown Sugar Shakin’ Espresso iced coffee, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the pop star will be having a collaboration with Nintendo.
