Johnny Depp Brings a Dark Twist to Christmas in “Ebenezer,” Out December 2

Christmas movies often bring to mind heartwarming stories, family traditions, and feel-good endings. But this holiday season, a familiar Christmas character is returning to the big screen with a darker twist.

Johnny Depp takes on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge in Ebenezer, an upcoming holiday film directed by Ti West, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed horror trilogy X, Pearl, and MaXXXine.

Best known as the famously grumpy character from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Ebenezer Scrooge has long been associated with one of literature’s most recognizable stories about generosity, redemption, and the spirit of Christmas.

Now, Ebenezer promises to introduce audiences to a different side of the familiar character. With West at the helm, the upcoming film invites viewers to revisit a Christmas story they thought they knew, this time through a filmmaker known for his distinctive approach to horror and suspense.

The film also features an ensemble cast including Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Arthur Conti, Ellie Bamber, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Charlie Murphy, Tramell Tillman, and Ian McKellen.
